This heirloom turnip variety was introduced in 1890. Can be cooked in several ways, roast, braise in butter, make turnip and potato puree or make turnip gratin. They have a crisp flavour, mildly spicy when raw and turn sweet, nutty and earthy when cooked. . Store in the fridge in a perforated plastic bag for 1-3 weeks. Turnips are a rich source of minerals and vitamins.
