Bradford watermelon is a flavourful heirloom variety with fragrant dark pink flesh, pearly seeds and a rind so soft you could slice it with a butter knife.  They were thought to be extinct but has been reintroduced to chefs, gardeners and food enthusiasts around the world.  Originally from the deep south USA, Bradfords are considered the sweetest and juiciest melon around.  Its rind can also be pickled for a refreshing treat.
