Each week brings something new to harvest, what an exciting time of year. We can hardly wait to share all these goodies with you! We are also adding more products to our on-line store, you will likely see them there first until we can get enough volume of produce to satisfy our entire CSA membership.
Here is what you can expect this week.
Raspberries Yes, they are still in season and we want to make sure you get your fill. Just a heads up….they will only be around for another week or so.
Golden Plums This early variety makes for the perfect snack. They have a thin yellow skin with a juicy consistency. Eating fresh is not the only way to enjoy them, just get creative. Chop them and add to salsa or smoothies. They get sweeter with cooking so make a jam or grill them on the BBQ.
Swiss Chard/Kale Mix Chard is the new crop that we wanted you to taste, so we teamed it up with a bit of Kale. Chop up and make a hearty stir fry.
Mixed Green and Yellow Beans Make your side dish a star of the show – fresh yellow and green beans topped with melted butter and Parmesan cheese. Cook until tender crisp, about 4 minutes.
Red Lettuce / Green Lettuce One head of each colour. Keep those daily salads coming!!
Tarragon Makes a great salad dressing. 1/2 cup olive oil, 1/3 cup red wine vinegar, 2 tablespoons minced tarragon, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, garlic, salt and pepper.
